Symantec acquires Relicore...?

Anti-virus software maker acquires niche CMDB dependency inference tool....?

I am just so puzzled by this - I guess I missed that Symantec is moving more into enterprise management - but boy, they are late to the party - unless they have a ton of cash...

symantec is a big beast. cmdb makes sense in terms of its patching and provisioning story. but to your point a lot of people have no idea of all assets it now has. in fact symantec probably doesn't even know all the assets it has
